Owen’s Dinosaur Books Donation

In spring 2021, a local kindergarten student named Owen convinced his grandfather to donate money to GPPL because he felt the library “needed new dinosaur books.” Owen’s grandfather agreed, and the two of them visited GPPL on April 15, 2021.

Owen’s grandfather donated $2,500 to put towards the purchase of dinosaur books for children.

In the following year, GPPL staff members purchased over 90 dinosaur books from Randy and Owen's donation, with more to come in the future.

Thanks Owen! Thanks Randy!

Follow-Up Children's Books Donation

Randy visited GPPL again on May 10, 2022 to make another donation to our children's collections on behalf of three grandchildren. The $3,000 he donated will be spent to expand our early chapter book, leveled reader, and juvenile graphic novel collections, plus add more children's books about owls, dogs, and Star Wars.

Randy, on behalf of all of our staff members and the families who borrow books from our collections, thank you so much for your support!
